Why do things sound Different?????
We think that things sound different because they are made out of Different materials.
Experiment:
Tambourine+Tambourine = different
bells+bells= different
Tambourine+bells= same
drums+drums= different
drums+ tambourine= Different
bells+drums=different
maracas+maracas=same
maracas+bells=different
Conclusion: that if they are made the same they sound the same. If they are made differently they sound different.

Why do people have different colour eyes??????
People have different colour eyes because they have the same colour eyes as their parents.
I found out that I was correct.
People have different colour eyes because they have the same colour eyes as their parents.
- Got a form
- Set up the form
- Write the names
- Circle the same eye colours from the parent and child
Most of the students in Room 8 had the same eye colour as at least one of their parents. Some students had hazel eyes and I thought that this was because they had one parent with brown eyes and one with blue and they are a mixture.

What are the best conditions for growing mustard seeds?
I think mustard seeds will grow best in the sun with water.
*For the one in the dark they sprouted on the 15th of september .
*The one with no water did not sprout .
*For the one in the sun they spouted on the 15th of september .
*The one in the garden sprouted on the 15th of september and it was the tallest.
I found out the one in the garden was the fastest growing because of the soil, sun and water.

How Far Does Sound Travel?
We thought that we thought it would travel further if it was louder and not very far if it was very
quiet. Since we wanted to know the answer we tried the experiment.
Emily
Frontwards
Normal:11 steps
Whisper: 6 steps
Loud: 36 steps
Backwards
Normal: 9 steps
Whisper: 3 steps
Loud: 34 steps
Millie
Frontwards
Normal: 23 steps
Whisper: 9 steps
Loud: 50 steps
Backwards
Normal: 16 steps
Whisper: 8 steps
Loud: 38 steps
We found out that our prediction was right but also it depends on who is speaking. Since Emily is quieter than Millie she makes a smaller sound. Since Millie is louder than Emily she makes a louder sound. So we have found out what we wanted to know, all thanks to Science!

How long does it take for water to freeze?
I put all the water in the freezer at 9:00am.
At 10:00 I checked the water, the warm water was not frozen, neither was the cold water or the freezing water and especially the hot water. At 11:00 I checked them and the only one that wasn't frozen was the hot one.
Cold tap water
The cold froze at 10:30 it took 1hour and 20 minutes to freeze.
Warm
It froze at 10:30 and took 1hour and 30 minutes to freeze.
Cold
It froze at 10:30 and took 1 hour and 30mins to freeze.
Hot
It froze at 10:47 and took 1hour and 47 minutes to freeze.
Conclusion:The hot water took 17 minutes longer to freeze because it had to cool down first.

Why is it easy to float in salt water and not in fresh?
I think you can float in salt water because the salt is pushing you up and you are trying trying to float as well.
Experiment:
First I put a potato in a bucket of cold water and it sank then I put a bag of salt in and it floated.
Conclusion:
The real reason is that there 's more salt in the water so it's pushing you up. A small amount of salt will dissolve and then the potato will still sink. Once the water can not soak up any more salt the potato will float.

Why does oobleck change form???
I think oobleck changes form because it is squishy.
Never make oobleck if you don't want to get your hands messy.
If you want to make it then go on the internet and find out how to make it.
The ingredients are what makes oobleck go between a liquid and a solid. Sugar, flour and other things would not work.
We had lots of fun playing with the oobleck.

What is the best distance from a iPad to get good quality sound.
We think the answer would be 8 meters.
Experiment
We got a ruler and an iPad. Then we put some music up as high as you can go .Then we started to go back in metres and we ended up not hearing the music at 25 meters. But we could hear it at 19 metres.
Conclusion
Do not use a iPad for music when you have lots of people talking. Do use a iPad for music when you are in a quiet place.

Are bubbles always round?
I think bubbles are always round. This is what I did.
I blew the bubbles onto some paper and the bubbles went in to a oval.
Then we made some bubbles connect with each other they sometimes got bigger and sometimes went into different shapes. The bubbles that got bigger and different shapes could be split into the same amount that were joined. Bubbles change colour from the sun.
Bubbles are the same shape as the thing you blow it from.
I found out that bubbles are different shapes and colour they are big and small.

What makes a difference to the sound quality for a person listening on a mobile phone?
I think that you can't hear when there is wind and when you shout over the phone.
Experiment:
First I went far away from the person on the other phone. I could hear. Next I tried to listen in the wind. I could hear. Then I and some people shouted. I couldn't hear.
I found out you always could hear the sound but not when people are shouting very close to you as the listener.

Why does a lemon make electricity?
I thought that a lemon made electricity because it was sour.
I experimented on an orange, a kiwi fruit and an apple. Two worked, the orange and the kiwi fruit but only for one second. We said peel at first from the ones that worked but we were wrong.
Next we said sour and we got it but what made things sour?
It was tartaric acid. We had lots of fun.
